What a treat we have for you today! I’m lucky enough to be part of an awesome collaboration between HeffyDoodle and My Sweet Petunia to celebrate the third release. There are some fantastic prizes up for grabs so be sure to hop along for some amazing inspiration! I have two cards for you today – one Hoppy Easter Card and one extra bonus Croc Smile card!
Hoppy Easter Card Tutorial
My project features these bunnies, eggs and sentiments from the fun and gorgeous new Honey Bunny Boo stamp set. Think of it as a snapshot of some adorable springtime fun!
Firstly, I started out with an A6 white card panel of Copic friendly Clare Fontaine 210gsm DCP Paper. With a pencil, I traced the inner section of the largest photo frame from the Lawn Fawn Say Cheese, Again die and masked off the area with some Post-It Notes.
Secondly, Using some MFT Black Licorice Hybrid Ink I stamped out three of the bunnies and all of the eggs from the set, using plenty of fussy-cut Post-It Notes as masks. I stamped the bunnies first and then the eggs to create this scene. The MISTI is absolutely perfect for this type of project!
Thirdly, once I finished stamping and removed the masks, I coloured the scene in with my Copic markers. I deliberately chose bright colours to give the scene a springtime feel.
Copics Used:
Yellows: Y38, Y17, Y15, Y21;
Greens: G29, YG17, YG93;
Blues: B01, B00, B000, B000;
Purples: BV08, V09, V06;
Pinks: RV69, RV09, RV06;
Greys: W00, W0, W2, W3, W4, W5, W6;
Browns: E37, E35, E33, E31, E00; E19, E15, E13, E11.
Once coloured, I stamped a sentiment from the set in black ink underneath the scene.
Next, for the photo frame, I used the Lawn Fawn Say Cheese, Again die cut from black cardstock. I arranged two sentiments from the set on the bottom, stamped with Versamark ink and white heat embossed.
Finally, I popped up the frame with some foam tape and adhered it to the panel. I mounted this on a top-folding A6 card base using the MISTI to line everything up (a truly fantastic and time saving tip from the wonderful Lesley Oman!). I finished up the card by adding a little clear Wink of Stella for some shine.
Bonus Project
Of course, I couldn’t help but bring out the crocs from my favourite set, Happy Snappy Crocs, and create a bonus birthday card!
