I’m back on the Heffy Doodle blog today with some Yappy Happy Thanks Mail! What better way to thank someone than to send them a Happy Mail Card full of thanks?
Happy Mail Card Tutorial
Firstly, I started out by stamping the UK post box, the paper plane and four letters from the Yappy Happy Mail set onto some blending cardstock using Memento Ink. Then I coloured them in with my Copic markers, using rich reds and cool greys:
Reds (Post Box): R89, R37, R24, R14
Greys (Letters): C6, C5, C4, C2, C1, C00
I cut these out with my Scan N Cut, but there are coordinating dies available.
For the background, I used a panel cut with the Stitched Bubble Background die. I inked this up with Broken China, Salty Ocean and Faded Jeans Distress Oxide inks, pushing out the colour so the lighter colours were highlighted in the centre. Then, I added a few clear water splatters to give some texture and adhered to a top-folding A2 card base.
For the smaller sentiment, I white heat embossed the ‘A CARD FULL OF’ sentiment from the Yappy Happy Mail set onto the bottom middle of the background. I used a die cut thanks from the Thanks Heffy Cuts for the larger sentiment, adhering it directly to the background over the smaller sentiment. Then I covered this with a little Wink of Stella to give some chine and then added a layer of Glossy Accents.
Finally, I arranged the Post Box and letters onto the centre of the card, adding a stitched circle cut from white cardstock to help pop them up from the background.
Thanks for reading, have a crafty day!
