Hello! I have an extra special project today, featuring the special Heffy Doodle/Simon Says Stamp collaboration set, More Than S’mores! It took a little longer to make its way to my door, but the good news is that this set is still in stock if you wish to purchase it! Here is a S’moresome Day Birthday Card.
S’moresome Day Birthday Card Tutorial
Since I first saw the design for this set, I thought about creating a giant s’more. Not that I’ve ever actually had a proper s’more before (Google is a wonderful invention sometimes!). I drew out the basic four layers in a light Copic marker to get the basic shape and then started colouring it in. I used my E50s for the biscuit (cracker?), E40s for the chocolate and Ws for the marshmallow. I added lots of dots to give more dimension and a little texture. When finished, I outlined the image using a Copic multiliner and fussy cut it out.
On some blending card stock, I stamped out the squirrel and raccoon from the set and coloured them in using my favourite red combination (R39, E08, YR18, YR14 and Y21) and some more Ws. I also stamped out the smaller s’more from the set twice. I fussy cut all the images out.
I used a sheet from the Lawn Fawn Watercolour Wishes paper pad and a woodgrain effect from my scrap stash for the background. The sentiments in the set didn’t really fit my style as such so I cobbled together one from the Teach Me Words, Elephant of Surprise and Happy Snappy Crocs sets. The Strips of Ease dies helped me get these strips (mostly) straight!
A cute little card, even if the squirrel is a little jaunty! 🙂
Don’t forget to head on over to Simon Says Stamp if you would like to get your hands on this exclusive set. It is only available for a limited time and will not be restocked once it sells out!
