I shared a ‘to my husband’ card a few days ago and this is the perfect coordinating card. Today’s card features the new Otter Side stamp set, the My Little Angel stamp set, the Wife Heffy Cut die, the Circle Masquerade Stencil and the Confetti Hearts stencil.
I started out by stamping the cute otter couple and from the Otter Side stamp set onto an A6 panel of blending cardstock using some Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I stamped these again onto some masking paper and fussy cut them out to create some masks.
I then adhered the Circle Masquerade Stencil to the panel with some washi tape. I am seriously so excited about this stencil that I use it on just about every card I create! The etched lines make it really easy to line up centrally on a card base.
I then blended on some Distress Oxide inks in Picked Raspberry and Abandoned Coral to create a circular gradient. I then layered on the Confetti Hearts stencil and blended on some Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink. I moved the heart stencil around several times to ensure the background was evenly filled.
I then removed the masks and coloured in the images with my Copic alcohol markers. E70s work amazing well for otter-coloured fur! I used a marker in a similar colour to the Distress Oxide ink to fill in the ‘gaps’ from my imperfect fussy cutting!
The sentiment was created from two elements. The ‘to my’ from the My Little Angel stamp set was stamped in Versamark ink, white heat embossed and then cut into a strip. The ‘wife’ was die cut from three layers of card – two white and one coloured in the same inks as the background. I stacked three together, adhered to the bottom of the circle and then covered with Glossy Accents. I added some Glossy Accents to their noses, the heart and to the centres of the background hearts.
A few little touches with a white pen finishes off this card!
