Hello! I’m back on the Seven Hills Crafts blog today with another Christmas in July card. This card features the Sugar Pea Designs Gnome for Christmas stamp set and the Mama Elephant Scene Builder stamp set. This card, along with my card from a couple of weeks ago, ensures I am getting an early start to making Christmas cards so there isn’t a mad rush in November! Apologies in advance to all those who hate to have mention of the C-word before December!
Christmas in July Card Tutorial
This one required a little bit of masking with some Post-It Notes. I used blending cardstock and some Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink. When making a scene card like this, first stamp out the elements that are in the foreground, stamping out the elements furthest in the background last. I started with the gnome on the right, the coffee mug, the gnome on the left, the sledge and then the mountains in the background. A Copic-friendly pen is definitely your friend to tidy up any imperfect stamping!
I then coloured the scene in with my Copic markers, starting with the snow background. Some festive reds and greens help to give that Christmas feeling!
I left stamping the sentiment until I’d finished the background (sometimes the lighter colours can cause the ink to bleed) and then used my good old white gel pen to add plenty of snow!
I promise this is the last Christmas card for a little while! 🙂
