Hello! I’m back on the Seven Hills Crafts blog today with a little bit of festive Xmas in July. When July comes around, I try and make a few Christmas cards to relieve the stress around November time, so the next couple of posts will be Christmas themed. Apologies to those who think the C-word should be banned until at least December! I love the ‘Hey Bear’ sets from Sugar Pea Designs. I’ve used the Sugar Pea Designs Hey Winter set to create this relatively simple bearing gifts Christmas card.
Bearing Gifts Christmas Card Tutorial
I started out by stamping the bear from the Sugar Pea Designs Hey Winter in some Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink. I had to do a little bit of masking, but that was nothing a Post-It Note and a black marker couldn’t handle. I stamped the trees in the background, drawing in some of the mountain detail with an alcohol-friendly marker.
Now onto the fun part! I coloured the scene in with my Copic markers, making sure to saturate the card to get a good blend.
Finally, I stamped out the sentiment below the bear – it’s a good idea to do this after colouring the background, especially when using lighter markers, so that they don’t bleed or smudge the sentiment. And of course, it wouldn’t be a Christmas card without some white pen to add some snow!
I’ll be back shortly with another Xmas in July card!
