I started out by stamping the scene elements using Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink on some blending cardstock, starting with those in front (i.e. the fire) and ending with those in the back (i.e. the woods). I had to get creative with my masking, as we all know I tend to cheat and be lazy by avoiding cutting whole masks!
I took my time with the colouring, ensuring I saturated the paper properly in order to get a proper blend. I stuck to darker colours in the background and the lighter, yellow-tinted light in the foreground to show the reflected firelight.
This one was sent to a friend abroad, so I hope she gets to enjoy the summery scene on the card, even if we can’t quite do this in real life at the moment! 🙂
