Hello, I’m back today with some more inspiration for the Seven Hills Crafts Colorado Craft Company celebration week. Today I am featuring the Big and Bold Hope Sings Peacock stamp set – these stamps are so perfect for both practicing colouring and creating a card panel with just the one image. I used some inspiration pictures of real peacocks in order to chose the correct markers and give me some guidance on how to colour them. Here is a Big and Bold Peacocks Card.
Big and Bold Peacocks Card Tutorial
For my first card, I used both the peacock’s head and feather to create a scene on my card panel. I stamped the head first in some Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink and used some Post-It Notes to mask off the neck before stamping the feather image repeatedly across the bottom of the card. I wanted to make it seem as though his tail is fanning out behind him.
Next, my favourite part – the Copic colouring! I really had fun with this one, selecting some bright, bold colours. I started with the background to make sure I didn’t get any colour bleed from the markers. A few finishing touches with my coloured pencils enhanced the shadows and highlights, to create a general happy anything card!
My next card features just the feather from the set. I stamped it out in a repeating pattern across the whole card panel. I could focus in on the bright oranges, blues and greens to create another generic greeting card that can be used for any occasion.
