I’m over on the Seven Hills Crafts blog today with another festive card, this time featuring the MFT Joyous Holidays and ‘Tis the Season stamp sets. When you’re looking to make many cards but still keep that quality look, the simpler the scene the better!

I stamped out the Santa, tree and reindeer image using some Lawn Fawn Jellyfish ink onto some blending cardstock as I wanted to use my current favourite: no-line colouring. I actually stamped multiples of these, just changing out my cardstock in my stamping tool before replacing the stamp with the next. If you do it supply chain style, you can make four or five in just a extra time. I made 5 and altogether they took me about an hour.

I pulled out my alcohol markers and, starting first with the background, coloured the scene in. I used bright, festive colours for the elements and some fine brushstrokes for the tree branches. I used my colouring pencils to add some of the finer details (like eyes or glasses) and to add contrast to the deeper shadows or lighter highlights.

I finished by stamping out the sentiment from the MFT ‘Tis the Season set.
I hope you’re well on your way to finishing your Christmas cards for this season! 🙂
