I’m back on the Seven Hills Crafts blog again today with a clean and simple birthday rabbits card. Sometimes you’ve just got to let the whitespace and colouring rule! This card features the herd (or interestingly, a nest, colony, fluffle or warren!) of bunnies from the Waffle Flower We Herd stamp set. I’ve paired it today with a little Distress Ink and a sentiment from the Mama Elephant Birthday Messages set.
Birthday Rabbits Card Tutorial
I started out by stamping the row of bunnies from the Waffle Flower We Herd stamp set in some Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink onto some blending card stock. I coloured these cuties in with my Copic alcohol markers, making sure to vary the tones of browns (no two bunnies are alike!). I fussy cut them out, leaving just a small strip of white under them so it would make it easier to adhere to the sentiment strip.
For the background, I lightly blended on some Worn Lipstick Distress Ink with a stencil brush in the area behind where the bunnies would be. I then adhered them over the top, making sure to leave their ears free to get a little dimension.
For the finishing touch of the sentiment, I stamped one out from the Mama Elephant Birthday Messages set onto a strip of Lawn Fawn Mermaid Cardstock. I love the simplicity of this font and the series of sentiment sets from Mama Elephant!
