I’m back on the Heffy Doodle blog today with a feel good Woohoo Crocs Celebration card featuring my favourite stamp set: Happy Snappy Crocs. Even though it is one of the first stamp sets Lesley created, I love colouring the crocs in and I’ve paired it with a couple of the newer products to send a little cheer to a poorly relative.
Woohoo Crocs Celebration Card Tutorial
Firstly, I started out by die cutting a whole bunch of leaves using the Forest Leaves and Tree-mendous Peekaboo Tree dies. It’s me, so I chose to colour them in with my alcohol markers so I cut them out of some blending cardstock. Next, I used a mixture of greens, yellows, browns and golds to colour in the leaves, making sure they were all variegated. I planned for a big pile of these leaves that the croc would be bursting out of!
Once the leaves were coloured, I then stamped out the croc in some Lawn Fawn Jellyfish ink – this is perfect for no-line colouring. As I die cut the leaves and they had no black stamped line, I thought this style would fit the card better. I coloured him in using some of the same markers, though I stretched more into the YGs to make sure he was differentiated from the leaf pile.
With a little help from Glubert, I adhered the leaves in a pile around the croc. I added in some of the smaller leaves to give a ‘whooooosh’ impression!
Finally, I finished off with a two part sentiment – partly cut using the Woohoo Shadow Heffy Cuts and partly stamped with the Get Well Greetings stamp set.
A few final touches in pencil and fluffing up the leaves to give added dimension finished the card. It’s sure to give any person feeling poorly a smile!
