Hello, crafters! Today marks a little bit of a sad day – it’s my last regular post for Seven Hills Crafts. I’ve been on the Design Team since 2017 and it’s been a wonderful place to grow, show my creativity and explore a wide range of products from different stamping companies. Work has encroached too much into my crafting time recently, so even though I won’t be posting every other Friday, you may still see me around occasionally! As a huge thank you, my Cute But Beastly Christmas card today is for Tara and Rick (and hopefully it has arrived in the post and hasn’t spoiled the surprise!). I know she loves a good kraft card and the MFT Beast Friends is also one of my favourite sets!
Cute But Beastly Christmas Card Tutorial
This is really simple and involves only five supplies – MFT Beast Friends, Waffle Flower Fa La La, Lawn Fawn Jelly Fish and Yeti Ink, and my colouring pencils. Oh, and a stamping tool if you want to get picky! 🙂
I started out by stamping the festive beast onto the front of a kraft card base using some Contour Ink. As I’m colouring in pencils, I don’t have to worry about any bleeding through to the inside of the card.
I laid down a layer of white pencil to help get that ‘glow’ on the darker kraft card before adding in my colours.
To finish off, I used the ‘Merry Christmas’ sentiment from Fa La La and stamped it out in some white ink.
I love the simple, rustic look of pencils on kraft.
All the best for a Happy Christmas and a safe and wonderful 2022!
