Hello, Heffy Doodlers! Today I have a festive Heart of Candles Christmas card for you today featuring the Heart Pencil Dies for my post on the Heffy Doodle blog. I’ve slightly modified the heart of pencils to make some festive candles!

Heart of Candles Christmas Card Tutorial
Firstly, I started out by die cutting the pencils from some blending stock card. Make sure you keep the pieces in the die (or transfer them somewhere else) to make sure you get the correct shape.

Secondly, I then coloured in the pencils with my markers, keeping to the traditional red-green-gold markers. You can use coloured cardstock and distress ink to make this step slightly quicker!

Next, I die cut the background and stuck the pencil bottoms to it, making sure to trim off the extra where the pencil tops were meant to be.

You could free-hand this part, but I chose to use the candle from Popping By. I marked where I needed to stamp with a pencil and partially inked up the stamp in some yellow ink. I then went in with my markers and a fineliner to finish it off.

Finally, After adhering it to the white card base, the final step was to die cut a sentiment from the Classic Sentiments set using a Bold Banner die.

This would be a fantastic one to create multiple cards with, especially if you swap out the colouring for coloured cardstock!
