Hello, Heffy Crafters! The season is upon us and I’m sharing my favourite card from this season over on the Heffy Doodle blog today. I went with a classic, rustic kraft base for all my cards this year, choosing the natural pencil blend over my normal markers. It’s a fantastic effect, though perhaps not as quick as markers! My krafty Christmas card features just two stamp sets: the Santa’s Village and Holiday Sentiment Duos sets.
Krafty Christmas Scene Card Tutorial
Firstly, I started out by stamping the scene onto a kraft card base from the Santa’s village set, starting with the foreground most elements first – Santa and Mrs Claus. I used some Hero Arts Contour Ink as I wanted that no-line coloured look.
Excuse my masks – they have been used many times in previous years!
Next, I started in on the colouring. I used my pencils, layering down a layer of white before the lighter colours to make sure I got the vibrancy through the darker card base.
I layered up the background, adding some additional white snowflakes for the snow.
The final touch was to add the sentiment from the Holiday Sentiment Duos set in some white pigment ink, stamped centrally underneath the scene.
I hope you have a very happy festive season, wherever you are and whoever you are celebrating with! Here’s to a happy, healthy and crafty 2022!
