Sometimes, you just need a supportive ‘Hang in There’ to help you along your way. My card today over on the Heffy Doodle blog uses the Hang in There Jumbo Sentiment Dies along with an old favourite – the UnbeLEAFable stencil – to create this bright and ink-blended panel.

Hang In There Card Tutorial

I started out by blending over a light layer of Mowed Lawn Distress Ink onto a white card panel. I started off light so I could come over with the UnbeLEAFable stencil to create a layered foliage look. For some of the leaves, I added a little bit of Pine Needles Distress Ink to deepen up the stems and give some dimension and variation.

Next, I die cut two panels with the Hang in There Jumbo Sentiment Dies. One I coloured with Spiced Marmalade and Wild Honey, the other with the same Mowed Lawn and Pine Needles Distress Ink.

For the sentiment, I stamped the ‘thinking of you today’ sentiment from the Close At Heart Sentiment stamps onto a strip of cardstock inked with the same Spiced Marmalade and Wild Honey Distress Inks. I used a die from the Strips of Ease to help me cut a straight strip!

The final touch was to add a few highlights of white gel pen to give some dimension to the otherwise flat die cuts.

A pretty simple design that is sure to cheer up anyone who is going through a rough patch! This type of design would work well with any of the Jumbo Sentiment dies matched with any of the Heffy stencils.
