I’m really excited to join in the Heffy Doodle second release blog hop and showcase some of Lesley Oman’s amazing new stamps! She has gathered some wonderful crafters so continue to the end of the post for instructions to be in for aΒ chance to win some fantastic Heffy Doodle goodies! I am sharing a Best Fishes and Warm Kisses Card with you today for some inspiration!
Best Fishes and Warm Kisses Card Tutorial
My card uses the Warm Hugs stamp set and coordinating dies. This is definitely my favourite set from this release! It makes for a good winter themed birthday card!
I started out with an A6 top-folding white card base, blending on some Salty Ocean and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Inks. Then, I cut three additional layers using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Mountain Border DiesΒ and Stitched Hillside Border Dies. I inked just the very edges with the Salty Ocean Distress Oxide to match the background. Next, I layered these over the inked background and added some white gel pen dots to the sky to give the look of falling snow.
For the main elements, I stamped out the cute little fisherman, his fishing rod, the bucket and two fish from the set, colouring them in with my Copic markers in shades that coordinated with the background. At the same time I stamped out the little hole in the ice, coloured and covered it in with some Glossy Accents to give that watery effect. Following that, I cut out the coloured images with the coordinating dies, foam mounting them and arranging them on the background. For the fishing rod, I used a piece of white cotton to attach the little fish as his catch!
Next, I used the Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banners to cut out a banner in black cardstock and white heat emboss three of the sentiments. I foam mounted this at the top of the card.
Finishing touches of some clear Wink of Stella, sparkling clear sequins and white gel pen make this a cute little winter card!
