This release is a fabulous addition to the Heffy Doodle line, with many of the items complimenting other existing products. Today, I have chosen to go bright and rainbow – the new stencils are fantastic for creating those watercolour-looking rainbow backgrounds we all drool over!
I used the new Broad Brush Strokes stencil with some rainbow Distress Inks to create the bright rainbow background. I found the stencil brush gave me this great fluid effect when I slightly overlapped the stencil sections. Just be sure to wipe off your stencil before moving onto the next colour, otherwise you’ll get two similar sections (like I did for the reds!).
I next stamped out some elements from the new Popping By stamp set and coloured them in with my Copic markers. I chose bright rainbow colours to help pull out those colours from the background. I cut these out with the coordinating dies. I also stamped out a sentiment from the XXX set and stamped it with some Catherine Pooler ink.
To frame the sentiment and character, I used the Mini Essentials Dies to create a polaroid type background, adding some light colour with my Distress Inks.
Here are some of my other samples made with items from the new release that you may just spot in the shops!
New items used: Highland Honeys.
