If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that I love to Copic colour. As soon as I saw the gorgeous Thinking of You Lily over at Time for Tea Designs, I knew I had to colour it! Paired with some Heffy Doodle products – the Scalloped Circle Masquerade Stencil, Bold Banner Sentiments and Sorry Heffy Cuts – it helps to make some difficult cards bright and cheery!
Blog Hop Cards Tutorial
My first card features this gorgeous Tiger Lily. I stamped out the lily from the Thinking of You Lily over at Time for Tea Designs onto some blending cardstock using some Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I Googled images of the flowers for reference and selected some red markers (R59, R37, R24, R08) and some yellows (Y38, Y19, Y13) to colour in the petals. Next, I added some dot detail to the petals with the lighter markers. I chose some yellow-green markers for the leaves and fussy cut the flower out, though there are coordinating dies available.
For the background, I used a Scalloped Circle Masquerade Stencil and blended on some Broken China Distress Ink onto a white card base, building up the colour from the bottom. A ‘Thinking of You’ banner from the Bold Banner Sentiments and a bit of foam tape finishes off the card.
For my second card I went with the more traditional pinks of the Stargazer Lily. Pink isn’t usually my colour, but I love the blending I get with my RV20 markers. I paired the pink lily with the Sorry Heffy Cuts and a sentiment from the Thinking of You Lily over at Time for Tea Designs, though a layer of sparkle with Wink of Stella would look fantastic!
These products work together really well, so give it a try. Now I have some perfect cards to send to friends and family, especially with current world events!

Your lilies look very pretty. I like how the centers are so DARK. I needed to know how to color these.
Thank you for your comment. I tend to pick markers with quite a contrast between the darker and lighter colours. Sometimes it means it is harder to blend and I have to add another marker in the mix, but it does bump up the contrast. π
